The Unwilling by Kelly Braffet Review
I really enjoyed this novel! It brought me back to the way older fantasy works were written. Now, don’t get me wrong this story is long and it is very dark. There are a lot of messed up things happening. Things that I don’t agree with and that were disturbing. But perhaps because I read other reviews before starting the book that warned of the darkness, I was able to better prepare for it? It is also an adult fantasy novel and so will be different compared to a young adult novel.
Trickery (Curse of the Gods #1) by Jaymin Eve & Jane Washington Review
What did I just read?!
I came across a review of this book before I read it and the reviewer called it a hot mess but that she still loved it. So of course I had to get it!
The Echoed Realm by A.J. Vrana Review
The Echoed Realm is book two in Miya, Kai, and even Mason's journey. They've left Black Hollow but has Black Hollow left them?
Miya and Kai have become a monster-fighting team three years after the events in book one. They find news/hauntings/circumstances that don't really have plausible explanations but have a similar feel to what they experienced in Black Hollow to find the spirits causing trouble. It is on their latest search that they encounter more trouble than they've had in years and begin an unintentional journey into the past and who they are.

She has inherited her childhood home from her father along with the items that come inside it. The most significant being a magical trove and starts coming into the realization that her father may have had more secrets then he let on. The Hollow Gods by A.J. Vrana Review
Wow. This was good. So very good and in an interesting and complex way. Something I wasn't expecting but I'm so glad that I read this.
The Hollow Gods by A.J. Vrana follows three different characters, Miya, Kai, and Mason, through their journey navigating the legends and secrets surrounding the town of Black Hollow and the Dreamwalker. Black Hollow is a town in the modern world that can't seem to escape the fears of the past. The inhabitants firmly believe in the legend of the Dreamwalker that steals girls away into the woods.
Another Beast's Skin by Jessika Grewe Glover Review
Overall, this was an interesting story. The world building was good, probably better than the actual plot itself.
The main character, Neysa, is recently divorced and going through a difficult time in her life. She moves from Los Angeles to the UK, following the death of her father. After moving she becomes friends with twins, Silas and Corra, and their cousin Cade. In their company she discovers a magical side to herself and the Fae realm that the three come from. She finds purpose in trying to help them with the weakening Veils between the human and Fae realms.
The Orphan Witch by Paige Crutcher Review
I enjoyed this story but didn't love it. And I really wanted to love it. But throughout most of the story I found myself always with the knowledge that I was reading and not diving into another world.
The Orphan Witch follows Persephone May as she searches to belong. Her search leads her to Wile Isle, the Ever sisters, and a curse.
